Policy Description: Care Primo
Why does a person need health insurance for a stay in a foreign country?
Many Polish citizens who stay in a foreign country for a certain amount of time often either have no health insurance coverage or have insufficient coverage. Illnesses and accidents can never be completely ruled out and they can bring with them significant financial losses. That is why it is especially important to keep in mind that the healthcare systems of many countries can often be substantially more expensive than the Polish healthcare system. For this reason, proof of adequate health insurance coverage is very often a condition for either simply travelling to or staying long-term in many countries. Some examples of this are: The Schengen Visa insurance requirements, The German Immigration Office requirements, the requirements of the American State Department and of American universities.
Whether you are travelling for business, for personal reasons, or for educational reasons, with the affordable insurance plan, Care Primo, you are protected against the costs of necessary medical services.
Under this plan, we will reimburse the following verified costs incurred from illness or accident worldwide to you:
A deductible does not occur in this health insurance plan.

The insurance plan, Care Primo, is available for people up to 66 years old, who live in Poland, and who want stay outside of Poland for up to 3 years
What policy terms are possible?

What must be considered when extending a policy?
How, and in what cases, is it possible to terminate the policy?

If you are refused a visa or do not enter the country for other reasons, you have the option to cancel the requested insurance in writing before cover begins.
How do I obtain my insurance documents online?
Shortly after you have completed and sent off your online application, you will, after a positive plausibility check, receive an approval email at the email address you provided. This email contains the following documents in PDF format that you can print out and use:
You will also receive per post (duration of coverage at least 120 days) your certificate of insurance with insurance card.
Should a positive plausibility check not be possible, we will contact you in writing within two working days.
Is it possible to transfer the premiums monthly instead of having them debited directly?
Please understand that payment for the following international health insurance is possible only as a one-time premium via PayPal before the contract can be concluded. Because of the immensely high costs involved in international bank transfers in proportion to the comparatively low insurance premiums, a direct debit would be too expensive.
Does the Care Primo plan include protection against claims for damages from a third party?
Yes, liability insurance is automatically included.
This helps you to refute unjustified claims (a passive legal protection function of the liability insurance) and entitled claims to pay.
Are stays in hospital and treatment by specialist physicians insured?
In principle, every type of medical treatment which is considered necessary and which did not begin before commencement of the insurance term (prior illness) is covered. This international health insurance includes medical treatment by specialists (e.g., orthopaedists, gynaecologists) and in-patient treatment in the general care class, excluding treatment by the head physician. You will find a detailed list of benefits in the description and in the General Terms of Insurance.
What is not covered?

You will find a detailed description of benefits in the insurance conditions
What is if the traveller receives no visa, or his residence permit ends?
If the traveller does not receive a visa for a country, even though he has already signed a contract, or the traveller must cancel his stay premutarely, a full or partial refund of the insurance premium is possible on request. To receive reimbursement, it is necessary to present proof of the denial of entry or continued stay from the embassy, the consulate or the appropriate authority. A refund will be made within 4-6 weeks minus a fee of 5, – EUR.
Is it possible to apply for Care Primo insurance plan after departure ?
No, your first Care Primo insurance plan must have been applied before your departure.
After that It is possible to apply for a policy extension before the expiration of your existing policy.
Does the insurance coverage end with a marriage to a local resident of the destination country?
The insurance contract only ends with a marriage to a local resident of the destination country if the marriage establishes permanent residency and the traveller has, at the same time, no intention of returning to his home country, planning to stay indefinitely at this destination.
I have my health insurance coverage through you, can I also apply for social security insurance through you?
No. When you first begin working in Germany you have to apply for your social security card (which you must provide to your employer) through a German state health insurance company. The social security number is not issued by private insurance companies.
How many months should I enter on my application about my “duration of coverage” if I am not sure how long my stay in the foreign country will be?
Enter the maximum number of months that you are likely to reside abroad as your “duration of coverage”. Should the payment amount that appears be too high, you can go back and enter a shorter term – this will give you a lower premium payment amount. Though this is possible, we recommend that you enter the maximum conceivable “duration of coverage” if you are financially able to pay that maximum amount from the outset. Please be advised that the risk of being uninsured is high if your stay is longer than the “duration of coverage” that you entered on the application and you do not apply for a policy extension before the expiration of your existing policy. Also, we may decline your request for an extension if we determine an illness from the previous contract period to be a pre-existing condition when processing your extension request. Should your stay be shorter than the number of months you entered and you return early from your stay, then any overpayments (based on the number of days left on the policy) will be refunded.
Will I receive proof of health insurance for submission to the Department of Immigration, the visa office or other authorities?
Once we have your application and we are certain that we can insure you, you will receive a certificate of insurance from us by e-mail, and (duration of coverage at least 120 days), a copy of this certificate will be sent to you per post. In our experience, this certificate of insurance is accepted as proof of insurance by all foreign authorities, and a copy submission of the original document is sufficient.
